His shield and protection – 2018.05.10

He protects you with His wings,
under His wings you find refuge,
shield and protection is His faithfulness to you.

Psalm 91:4

Isn’t that wonderful?  To whom does it apply?  For those mentioned in the first verse:
He who dwells under the protection of the Most High
and rests in the shadow of the Almighty….
Yes, every promise has its conditions that we must fulfil.  Here it is: be very, very close to the Lord, be a heart and a soul with Him. Then HE protects you.
If you go your own way, you have to take care of yourself.  But who loves the Lord and seeks His nearness, HE protects him, He gives him a present and HE is very, very close to him.
All our longing and striving has only one goal: to become one with the Creator of the universe.  And in and through Jesus we have reached our goal: peace with the Lord! Harmony with all creation! Joy in your heart!
That is why I get up a little earlier in the morning like the others and rest a little in the shadow of the Almighty.  His calmness rubs off on me, His calmness permeates me and His protection is there. How good for the day!
I don’t want any hectic and stress in the morning, I want to start the day with Him, my beloved Lord.  I want to dwell in the shelter of the Most High and rest in the shadow of the Almighty.  Then HE protects me with His wings, then I find refuge under His wings, then His faithfulness is my protection and shield.
He is faithful to me, he stands by my side. Today will be a restless day, full of work and people.  But I can be relaxed, because HE stands by my side. He’s where it gets tough. He protects me when others attack me. He takes me under His wing. And so the day can begin: In His peace and serenity.

Thank you, Jesus! You give me peace that no one else can know. You give deep joy that no one else knows. You are there, protecting me, protecting me, taking me under your wing. How good to be with you in all the daytime hustle and bustle!
