You are the Christ, the son of the living God!
Jesus asked the disciples, who the people thought he was. They replied; one said he was John the Baptist, the other said Elijah, still others mentioned Jeremiah or one of the prophets. Then Jesus asked them directly: but who do you think I am? And Simon answered: “You are the Messiah, the son of the living God!” Then Jesus said to him: “Blessed are you, Simon; for flesh and blood has not revealed it onto thee, but my Father who is in heaven.”
Many come to Jesus because they want something. Many people read about Jesus in order to learn the correct prayer. Some want to align their thinking wiith HIM. Some want health, because HE loves to heal. Some people need money and prosperity. Some need wisdom. Many need the atmosphere in praise, because it uplifts them. Jesus is used for many things …
But HE is not a machine! HE listens to our prayers and gives everything, since HE is not stingy. HE holds fulfillment! HE has also healed the ten lepers, even though HE knew only one would come back to thank him for it.
We love WHAT HE does! Of course! – Because it is a blessing.
But do we also love WHO HE is? HE is the promised Messiah. All the prophecies of the Old Testament came true, read ISAIAH 53! HE is the one who left heaven to become human. HE even left HIS divinity behind to become fully human. HE who maintains heaven and earth by his powerful word! – humbled himself to the people …. Who can believe that?
All praise and all worship to HIM. He now sits to the right of the majesty of the Father. All the angels listen to him and the evil powers have to listen. Every knee will bow before him, no matter how big and proud and mighty one is now. He is simply more powerful! – read Psalm 2.
HE is the Redeemer and our Savior. It is not only the treasures of wisdom and knowledge that lie in HIM. We are well advised if we turn to HIM with all our needs. HE is the LORD! HE gives in abundance! – and HE gives gladly and generously. HE makes us new in every respect. HE is the one who sets us free, rescues, releases our sins, sanctifies and prepares for God. HE is all in all for all.
No one can realise this by themselves, it has to be done by this. This is why our prayers of intercession for us and for others are so important and so promising: God must reveal himself, and so he does, if we only pray!
It is pure grace that we may know him, and certainly no merit. We should be careful with our knowledge of Jesus, but we can not hide it!
Thank you, Jesus! You are my savior, my redeemer and liberator! How much do you love me, and how much I yearn for thee!! Come live in my heart!
